Vivo V25 5G: Conflict between appearance and performance

If you’re looking for great value and the best bang for your buck, check out Vivo’s mid-range offering – The V25. On paper, it features decent cameras and some trendy design choices that set it apart from comparable devices in its price range. But is there more to this phone than meets the eye?

The stylish Vivo V25 – is a device sure to draw attention and admiration with its eye-catching design. Delight as you watch it change colors in different lights, making your phone look modern and chic!

The Vivo V25 5G comes in two different models in India. With 8GB of RAM and 128GB of storage, the entry-level model costs Rs. 27,999. The most expensive model, with 12 GB of RAM and 256 GB of storage, would cost you $31,999. In addition, the phone comes in two distinct hues: Surfing Blue and Elegant Black. The phone is available on Vivo’s website and third-party marketplaces like Reliance Digital and Croma.

Design and Built

At first glance, the Vivo V25’s color-changing coating stands out. This trickery is made possible by the Color Changing Fluorite AG Glass back panel. There are, of course, more subdued color options, but they feel like they’d be a disservice to the gadget. Depending on the angle at which the sun is shining and the quantity of UV light that strikes the Surfing Blue color, it might seem quite different from one light to the next.

The Surfing Blue color goes from a pastel sky blue to a vibrant ocean blue. This may be a gimmick, but it enhances the device’s aesthetics and makes it seem more expensive than its actual cost.

The Vivo V25 is remarkable in design, even without its headline feature. The device’s crisp and rounded edges have led some to draw comparisons to Apple’s iPhone. Aside from that, the V25 has its own identity as a piece of tech. Some people have griped that the edges are rough and hurt their hands. However, that is not the case here because of the material.

The phone’s smooth sides and rounded corners make it feel and seem expensive. The device weighs in at only 186g and measures a thin 7.79mm in thickness. You’ll find a massive camera module on the device’s rear, with two big lenses and one little one. The Vivo logo is faintly printed at the base. The device looks brand new and high-end overall. The power button and volume rockers are on the right side, and there are ports on the same side. While there is no hardware on the left, there is a microphone on the top. The speaker grill, SIM tray slot, and USB Type-C connector are on the underside.

The front-facing camera still lives in a little notch. Although the hole punch option is our top choice, we recognize that its price premium is lower than average.

Display

The 6.44-inch Full HD+ AMOLED screen of the Vivo V25 is among its many impressive features. Peak brightness is 1300 nits, and the refresh rate is 90 Hz. As a result, the screen’s brightness increases to an acceptable level for seeing in direct sunlight. The refresh rate of the screen is also adjustable under the display settings. You may choose between the typical 60 Hz refresh rate, the much faster 90 Hz refresh rate, and the Smart Switch mode, which adjusts the refresh rate automatically depending on the current use situation and battery consumption.

The display’s bezels are relatively narrow, except for a wider chin at the bottom. This won’t interfere with your watching pleasure in any way. The HDR10+ certification ensures compatibility with applications that provide high dynamic range (HDR) video.

Camera

The Vivo V25’s camera quality is also back on track. It has an outstanding 50MP front-facing camera in addition to a 64MP primary sensor, 8MP ultra-wide, and the same worthless 2MP macro camera that has been the bane of our existence on midrange handsets.

With enough lighting, the primary camera can capture clear, detailed images. The inclusion of OIS is a key factor in the camera’s improved low-light performance compared to its predecessor (optical image stabilization). In contrast to its predecessor, the Night mode can now take photos with enough clarity.

The camera app has various helpful settings, such as Live Photo mode, High-Resolution mode, Slo-mo mode, Pro mode, Vlog mode, and Dual View.

Performance

The Vivo V25 5G has a MediaTek Dimensity 900 CPU, up to 12GB of RAM, and 256GB of internal storage at your disposal. In addition, to the base 8GB of RAM already there, the internal storage may provide an additional 8GB of virtual RAM, bringing the total to 16 GB. This will not significantly improve your performance. Therefore, you may safely discard it.

The solitary bottom-firing speaker on the Vivo V25 is a minor drawback. It’s audible and has a good enough level of clarity, but it lacks the punch of a subwoofer and, obviously, complete stereo separation.

Battery

The Vivo V25 5G contains a 4500mAh battery, which is sufficient for its needs. Compared to other smartphones in the same price range, there is less backup, but there’s still plenty. A day of light usage won’t drain this phone’s battery life. The phone could survive until the next day’s afternoon with a bit of use.

While the competition offers rapid charging at 50W, the V25 only supports 44W. Vivo has decided on a significantly lesser 44W support since most phones nowadays under $30K have 60W, 80W, or even 120W fast charging support. As a result, it takes 30 minutes to charge the V25 to 68% and under an hour to charge it to 100%.

Conclusion

With the V25, it’s a treat to your eyes! This device has a fabulous design that will floor you, plus an array of stunning color options – including one amazing hue-shifting coat unseen before on anything like it.

Sure there are some downsides – no water resistance or wireless charging and just one stereo speaker at the bottom. Still, this phone from Vivo’s strong lineup offers great cameras with impressive performance. All in all? A suitable match for any mid-range budget – out of sight!
