Vivo T1x: A Touch of Class for Budget Users

Vivo has shaken up the budget smartphone market with its latest addition, Vivo T1x. This 4G device is a break from current trends as other companies rush to keep up with 5G tech – and it’s already turning heads! Running on Qualcomm Snapdragon 680 processor, the newcomer offers plenty of power – rivaling devices like Realme 9i in performance.

The Vivo T1x 4G 4GB RAM/64GB storage option retails in India for Rs 11,999. The device’s 4GB RAM and 128GB storage configuration retails for Rs 12,999. You can get your hands on the model with the most bells and whistles, including 6GB of RAM and 128GB of storage, for a cool Rs 14,999. Two color options, “Space Blue” and “Gravity Black,” are available for the mobile device. The smartphone is available from both the Vivo and Flipkart websites.

If you’re looking for an impressive mid-range handset that won’t empty your wallet too quickly, check out what this remarkable contraption can offer! Will Vivo T1x be the right phone for you? Let’s find out.

Design and Build

The Vivo T1x immediately impresses with its understated elegance. The rear is made of shiny plastic and is bare. However, the plastic structure doesn’t make the phone seem cheap, and first impressions are positive.

Vivo also puts a lot of effort into the design of its cheaper phones. For example, on the rear of the T1x is a camera module in the form of a square, which houses the dual camera setup, LED flash, and the Vivo logo at the bottom.

The smooth, rounded design makes it easy and safe to hold. It weighs just 182g and is only 8mm thick, so it may fit comfortably in the back pocket. However, fingerprints are stuck on the back. Thus, a case is recommended.

In terms of ports and buttons, the right side is where you’ll find the device’s volume controls and power button (which also acts as a fingerprint reader). A SIM card slot is located on the top, while the bottom has a 3.5mm headphone jack, USB-C connector, and speaker.

Display

The front of the Vivo T1x is dominated by a 6.58-inch full-HD+ 1,080 by 2,408 LCD screen. The screen refreshes at 90 hertz, has a 90.6 percent screen-to-body ratio and covers 96% of the NTSC color gamut.

Beautiful screen with excellent contrast and color richness. Full High Definition resolution makes everything crystal clear, including text and icons. The screen’s brightness is just perfect for inside usage but not outside in direct sunlight. However, support for 90 Hz refresh rates makes a big difference, mainly when using social media.

The display is better all around since it boasts a 90Hz refresh rate, which makes motion seem smooth without significantly draining the battery. However, an intelligent switch is still an option since its refresh rate may be customized for the presented content. Keeping it at 60Hz can help extend the life of your battery.

Camera

There are two cameras located on the back of the Vivo T1x 4G. It has a 50-megapixel primary shooter and a 2-megapixel macro lens. In addition, there’s a front-facing 8-megapixel camera for all your selfie needs.

Images taken during the daylight using the primary camera are of high quality. While the dynamic range is satisfactory, the colors are warmer and less accurate. However, when darkness falls, the overall visual quality decreases.

The rear and the front cameras can only record video at a maximum of 1080p at 30 frames per second. As a result, the videos always seem noisy, and the microphone seems to take up a lot of other sounds.

It supports the standard shooting mode and Live Photo, Panorama, Time Lapse, slow-mo, etc. However, you will lose important details in your images if you use a flash.

Battery

Where the Vivo T1x excels is in its battery life. It has a large 5000 mAh battery and supports 18W rapid charging. So even heavy users won’t need to charge their phone till evening if they use it sometimes during the day.

This phone has VEG (Vivo Energy Guardian) technology, which prevents the battery from being overcharged. However, the slow charging pace of just 18W is a significant drawback. The 18W charger has a relatively long charging time compared to its rivals, taking about 2 hours to get from 0% to 100% battery life.

Software

Vivo T1x stands out from the crowd due to its FunTouch OS 12 skin atop Android 11. While most of today’s smartphones are pre-installed with the latest version, Vivo has decided not to keep up with trends, opting for a more reliable and secure setup.

The user interface is simple and easy to understand. In addition, the smartphone may be customized in various ways and operates without hiccups.

Multiple options are available, such as the Dynamic Lock Screen, Split Screen, Smart Mirroring, and Ultra Game mode. There are a few other optimization settings you can choose between in Ultra Game Mode, but the three main ones are Battery Saver, Balanced, and Performance. In addition, many widgets, such as the Nano music player and the Weather, are handy.

Connectivity and Biometrics

There’s 4G LTE connectivity on the phone. Not having 5G capability on the gadget is a little letdown. Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, and Global Positioning System (GPS) are among more connection choices.

The fingerprint scanner on the Vivo T1x is physically located on the phone’s side. Therefore, it swiftly and reliably unlocks your phone. A plus is that the scanner is conveniently located. Additionally, the face-unlock function may be used and is generally reliable.

Performance

The Vivo T1x comes with up to 6GB of RAM and 256GB of internal storage, all powered by a Snapdragon 680 CPU. Considering its low cost, the CPU is well than enough for most commonplace tasks.

In addition, you can use the internal storage to expand the RAM by an additional 2GB if you use the ram expansion option.

For my typical activities, such as checking email, surfing social media, making a few phone calls, and watching YouTube videos, the T1x was more than enough. T1x’s gaming-focused options include Ultra Game Mode and Multi Turbo 5.0.

Conclusion

The Vivo T1x is, without a doubt, a high-quality device that doesn’t cost more than Rs. 12,000. There are, however, drawbacks that you can’t ignore.

Overall, the Vivo T1x might be an excellent choice if gaming isn’t a priority. For its budget, the phone provides decent performance and functionality.
