You also get expandable memory and longer battery life compared to their previous devices. It has everything needed for a great mobile experience, but is it worth investing in Oppo’s flagship phone?
Oppo Reno7, a 5G model with 8GB RAM and 256GB storage, is available in India for Rs. 28,999. It has been available to the general public since February 2022. The Starlight Black and Startrails Blue color options are available for the Reno 7 5G.
Design
Oppo’s Reno series has always been a frontrunner in design, and the Reno 7 Series is no exception. The Oppo Reno7 5G is a beautiful smartphone with a glossy finish. In addition, OPPO’s usage of Laser Direct Imaging (LDI) technology in the background gives a striking glossy, matte look.
When backlighting occurs, the two tones on display seamlessly combine. Unlike the Reno 7 Pro, which comprises metal and glass, the Reno 7’s glossy frame and rear panel are made of plastic. This is a downgrade from the Oppo Reno 6, which at least had an aluminum body. The thinness and light weight of the gadget, at only 173 grams and 7.81mm, make it easy to hold. There is no bulky or slick component to the smartphone. The matte texture makes it easy to operate with one hand. In addition, it makes it easy to clean and free of fingerprints and smudges.
The power button is on the right side of the device, while the left has the SIM card slot and the volume controls. The bottom of the smartphone has a charging connector, speakers, and a 3.5 mm audio jack. Front bezels on the smartphone’s display are minimal. The Oppo Reno7 5G is an attractive and comfortable smartphone.
Display
The AMOLED screen of the OPPO Reno7 5G measures 6.43 inches in diagonal and refreshes at 90 hertz. The image on the screen is clear and vivid. The screen came to life thanks to sufficiently vibrant colors, sharp contrasts, and enough brightness. With a touch sampling rate of up to 180Hz, the new Reno7 is very sensitive to user input.
There are smartphones in India with refresh rates of 120Hz and maybe even 144Hz for roughly Rs 30,000. However, OPPO opted for a slower refresh rate of 90Hz. Please be aware that this may be a problem for certain users. The 32-megapixel front-facing camera is situated in a circular cutout in the screen’s upper left corner. The display’s bezels are narrow, except for the chin. So the chin on the Oppo Reno7 5G is slightly more prominent than you’d want.
The screen’s quality has improved, and it should no longer be an issue while playing games or viewing movies. Also, it has Widevine L1 compatibility to watch UHD+ videos on your favorite streaming service.
Camera

The screen flash function is especially useful when there is a lack of natural light. You may utilize EIS at 1080p while filming in low light, but the quality will degrade, and the impacts will be amplified.
Battery
There is a powerful 4500mAh battery inside the Oppo Reno7 5G, and the device can be charged at an incredible 65W. The lightning-fast charging times destroy the competition. The Oppo Reno7 5G has a quoted charging time of 35 minutes from empty to full.
Software
The OPPO Reno7 5G is a must-have phone, with its super smooth ColorOS 12 software running on the powerful Android 11 platform. So get ready for an unbeatable user experience. Despite its simplicity, the newest OS shell from OPPO feels quite solid and feature-rich. So it was a nice surprise that I had no delays or errors throughout my week of usage.
Many of the factory-installed programs are removable if they are not needed. The Oppo Reno7 5G, on the other hand, has a pleasant UI and few advertisements. The ability to utilize Omoji on the lock screen through the app’s new customization options is a nice touch. It’s a good idea to make it simpler for older people or those with poor vision to operate the device by making the app icons and text larger when you go to Simple Mode. Also, try out the air gesture option.
Performance
Despite the Reno 7 boasting a powerful 5G-ready MediaTek Dimensity 900 SoC, Oppo’s decision to stick with their tried and tested processor rather than upgrading it could mean this smartphone falls behind its rivals. A newer chipset, such as the Dimensity 920, would likely have elevated the device even higher in an increasingly competitive market.
The processor has 8GB of RAM and 256GB of internal storage, providing enough room for all your media files, apps, and documents. Furthermore, if you feel you need additional RAM, you may use the option to install additional memory.
Oppo Reno7 5G functioned well on regular use. The phone’s processing power is enough for casual uses like checking Instagram, playing light games, and watching videos on YouTube for long periods.
