OPPO F21s Pro 5G: There’s Room for Growth

Oppo’s newest effort to revitalize the mid-range smartphone market is the F21s Pro 5G.

This is Oppo’s latest effort to revitalize the mid-range smartphone market by adding features that rival flagship devices lack. So, let me clarify. But first, let’s just say that the devil is in the details with this phone.

Oppo’s new F21s Pro 5G is available now for Rs 25,999. The smartphones were released for the holiday season in September 2022, and you can purchase them through Oppo shops, Amazon, and other retailers around the nation.

Design and Display

The Oppo F21s Pro 5G dimensions are 159.90 x 73.20 x 7.60mm, and it weighs 181.00 grams. It debuted in both starlight black and dawnlight gold. In addition, the phone features an in-display fingerprint sensor. This design has been made possible by using a new screen technology called OLED.

The OPPO F21s Pro is a slim, lightweight, and stylish device with a thickness of just 7.66mm and weighing just 181g. It has a 6.4-inch Full HD+ display with an aspect ratio of 19:9, which is perfect for watching videos or playing games on the go. The phone also comes with Android v12 and the latest Qualcomm Snapdragon 695 processor, which means it can run even the most demanding tasks without lag or slowdown.
The OPPO F21s Pro display is a 6.43-inch AMOLED display with a pixel density of 409 ppi, and 1080 x 2400 resolution. It also has a 180Hz touch sampling rate, 600 nits, and 93% NTSC/93% DC color gamut.

The F21s Pro display has a 20:9 aspect ratio and refreshes at 60 hertz. This means it can show up to 60 frames per second of animation, which is smoother than a traditional 60fps monitor or TV screen. This also makes it great for gaming as you can see your enemies coming at you more clearly with less motion blur or ghosting effects on screen. In addition, the OPPO F21s Pro Display has an AMOLED screen which means it’s more power-efficient and provides richer colors.

Camera

The main camera on the Oppo F21s Pro 5G is 64 megapixels (f/1.7), and there are also 2 megapixels (f/2.4) and 2 megapixels (f/2.4) cameras located on the back of the device. In addition, there is an autofocus camera system in the back. You can take selfies using the 16-megapixel front-facing camera, which has an aperture of f/2.4.

The OPPO F21s Pro 5G comes with triple rear cameras. The main camera is located in the larger hole on the top, while the secondary, monochrome camera has a resolution of 2 megapixels. There’s a little slot on the side for the third, 2-megapixel lens. OPPO says its macro camera can reach within 4cm of an item, which is about par for the course for macro lenses of this kind, which can also be found on more affordable smartphones. Surprisingly, given that the 4G variant has a 32-megapixel camera, OPPO only included a 16-megapixel sensor in the front-facing camera of this phone.

ColorOS conventions are used for the camera interface. You can find toggles for the camera’s flash, high dynamic range (HDR), artificial intelligence (AI), live filter, and other settings at the very top. At the very base of the screen, you’ll find the gallery preview, the big shutter button, and the selfie camera toggle. In addition, you can select Night, video, snapshot, portrait, and other scene modes via the viewfinder. Dual-view video, slow motion, time-lapse, expert, extra high definition, panorama, text scanner, macro, and sticker modes are all stored under the additional menu.

Software

ColorOS 12.1, based on Android 12, powers the Oppo F21s Pro 5G, which also has 128GB of storage space. Nano-SIM and Nano-SIM cards are both supported on the Oppo F21s Pro 5G, making it a dual-SIM (GSM and GSM) device.

Oppo has improved much in recent times, and ColorOS 12 and 12.1 have mitigated iOS’s influence to provide a solid alternative with many useful and exciting new features.

In the Personalization section of Settings, you may choose certain areas of your wallpaper for system accenting.

You can customize the vibration feedback via the “O-haptics” feature, which is only available in ColorOS 12.1. The vibrations may be adjusted in both intensity and quality, allowing you to choose how they feel in your hand. All of the features of the gadget have this quality.

Connectivity

The Oppo F21s Pro 5G has 3G, 4G (including compatibility for Band 40 used by certain LTE networks in India), and 5G connectivity in addition to Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac, GPS, Bluetooth v5.10, USB Type-C, and the newest USB Type-C. The device has a number of sensors, including an accelerometer, ambient light sensor, compass/magnetometer, gyroscope, proximity sensor, and an in-display fingerprint reader. You may use your face to unlock your Oppo F21s Pro 5G.

Performance

The octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 695 drives the 5G connectivity on the Oppo F21s Pro. It includes a whopping 8 GB of RAM. With support for sub-6 and mmWave in the 6-series, the Snapdragon® 695 5G Mobile Platform makes 5G indeed worldwide while promoting creative productivity, immersive gaming, and professional-grade capture.
The Snapdragon 695 5G, which is compatible with both 5G frequencies, provides high-bandwidth, low-latency connectivity that makes it possible to work and play fluidly from anywhere, whether it is a rural outpost or a bustling metropolis.

Battery

Oppo’s F21s Pro 5G has a 4500mAh battery. In addition, Oppo F21s Pro 5G can quickly charge with Super VOOC.

Conclusion

The OPPO F21s Pro 5G is a great option if you want both thin and stylish phones. The performance, battery life, and screen quality are all above average.

However, we cannot ignore the competition in this price range. Our own OPPO Reno 7 5G costs Rs 28,999. However, you can upgrade to a more powerful Dimensity 900 SoC, 65W fast charging, a 32MP front-facing camera, a 90Hz AMOLED display, and more for an additional few thousand bucks. The Xiaomi 11i HyperCharge 5G is also available for Rs 26,999, but it has a larger 6.67-inch 120Hz AMOLED display, a faster 120W fast charging, a more robust primary camera (108MP), and more.

The OPPO F21s Pro 5G is a solid option for those looking for a sleek, fashionable 5G smartphone, while better choices are available.
