iQOO 11: The Ultimate Powerhouse with 8K Video Capability

iQOO proudly unveiled its flagship gadget, the iQOO 11 5G, in India at the beginning of 2023. This engineering masterpiece boasts the title “World’s fastest” due to its Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 CPU, which sets the bar higher than ever.

The iQOO 11 5G is the first product to showcase Qualcomm’s latest and greatest processor, an achievement in itself. As iQOO started as a separate brand, it now shares more similarities with its parent company, Vivo. Nevertheless, the iQOO 11 is its flagship product and is responsible for distinguishing itself from its competitors.

The question on everyone’s mind is – can the iQOO 11 5G live up to its reputation and be the quickest smartphone available? Does it possess the necessary features to put its competitors to shame? But first, let’s delve deeper to discover the hype’s truth.

Availability

There are two different iQOO 11 5G versions. For 59,999, you may have the model with 8 GB of RAM and 256 GB of storage space. Last, there’s a 64,999 model with 16GB of Memory and 256GB of storage. The gadget may be purchased through Amazon India.

Design

The visually striking iQOO 11 exudes sophistication with its square form and a seamless blend of curved and straight edges. Its colossal 6.7-inch screen may seem intimidating, but this smartphone fits comfortably in one hand. And though it’s not exactly lightweight, the iQOO 11’s ergonomic design ensures a steady grip.

The phone’s overall build quality is a testament to its attention to detail, with its sturdy power switch and volume controls being noteworthy examples. On the underside of the device, a speaker grill, SIM card slot, and USB Type-C charging connection sit in perfect harmony. In addition, the phone can support dual nano SIM cards, a handy feature for those with multiple lines.

In addition to wireless headphones, iQOO has included a Type-C to AUX converter for those who prefer the old-school, wired option. Even if it’s something seemingly little, it’s worth recognising the effort put in.

The ‘ULTRA SENSING’ logo is an ode to the timeless design of classic cameras and writing, which sits underneath the camera enclosure. It’s a tasteful touch that adds to the phone’s overall appeal.

However, one disappointing aspect of the iQOO 11 is the lack of an IP rating for protection against dust and water. But fret not, for with its unparalleled build quality, this phone is still a force to be reckoned with.

Display

The iQOO 11’s impressive 6.78-inch display is completed with a resolution of 1440 by 3200 on an E6 AMOLED screen. Moreover, this smartphone’s maximum brightness of 1800 nits, as represented by the E6, is nothing to scoff at.

But it’s not just about the numbers; the iQOO 11’s screen is a joy. The colours are precisely rendered, with deep, uniformly balanced black levels that make everything pop. In addition, the screen’s optimal brightness makes it easy to read even in bright sunlight.

Unlocking the phone is a breeze with the embedded fingerprint reader, which responds quickly and accurately. In addition, the display’s excellent colour saturation and responsiveness and a higher maximum refresh rate of 144Hz compared to its predecessor, the iQOO 9 series, make for an even smoother viewing experience.

With three different refresh rate settings, the iQOO 11 is all about customisation. So whether you prefer the standard 60Hz, the maximum 144Hz, or the smart switch that falls in between, this smartphone covers you.

Camera

iQOO 11’s rear camera setup is a triple threat, consisting of a primary camera with a large sensor, a decent ultrawide lens, and a snappy 2x telephoto.

But what sets this gadget apart is its primary camera, which boasts a Samsung GN5 Tetrapixel sensor that’ll blow your mind. With a 50MP nominal resolution, 1.0m pixel pitch, and a 1/1.57″ optical format, this sensor is the heart and soul of the iQOO 11’s primary camera. It also has a 6-element stabilised lens, sporting an f/1.9 aperture and a 23mm equivalent focal length.

On the other hand, the telephoto camera has an f/2.46 aperture lens attached to a Samsung 3L6 sensor, providing 13MP, 1/3″, and 1.12m goodness. It’s designed to take stunning portraits with a telephoto lens, which is why iQOO named it such.

The ultrawide lens is powered by an 8MP sensor from OmniVision, with a pixel size of 1.12m and an optical format of 1/4″. The lens has a fixed focus and an f/2.2 aperture, producing shots with a focal length similar to 16mm.

And if you’re into video, the iQOO 11’s primary camera can shoot up to 8K30, a feat previously reserved for the Pro model. Sadly, the telephoto and ultrawide lenses can only record in 1080p at 30 fps. Moreover, you can choose between standard h.264 and the more efficient h.265 codecs. And let’s not forget the stereo 128kbps recordings that come with it.

Battery

The phone’s battery is larger than its predecessor’s at 5000mAh (typical), from 4700mAh. With the optimisations, it may survive for up to a day under heavy usage and up to two days under normal use while using 4G and playing multimedia. Yet, 5G might cause a quicker depletion rate.

The phone can go from dead to half-charged in around 10 minutes and fully charged in about 25 minutes thanks to its capability for 120W fast charging.

Performance

When iQOO 11 was released, it was one of the first smartphones in India to use the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 Mobile Platform. It shares the same fabrication technology as the Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1—TSMC’s 4nm process. As a result, it claims to boost performance by 35% and energy efficiency by 40%.

Software

The phone’s operating system is Funtouch OS 13, based on Android 13. In addition, it includes the January 2023 Android security update. The iQOO 11, like its predecessor, is supported by Android OS upgrades for three years and security patches for four.

Around 14.92GB of LPDDR5X RAM is available, with roughly 10GB available after the system’s default applications are closed. An extra 8GB. may upgrade the Memory. There is 219GB of available space out of 256GB of UFS 4.0 storage.

Conclusion

While the iQOO 11 checks practically every box, its starting price of Rs. 59,999 is steep. However, future phone releases in 2023 will be exciting since Qualcomm now provides a device that balances performance and battery life.
